Speedometer Calibration
« on: February 05, 2021, 03:54:02 AM »
Is it possible to calibrate the speedometer of an R1250RS with the GS-911? My speedometer reads 3 mph (4.8 kph) fast at all speeds.

Thank you in advance for any help.

All speedometers are designed to read optimistic, and yours sounds quite normal.

As for adjusting it with a GS-911 I doubt that function is available.

I recall reading that this is a purposeful design by BMW to comply with some German law prohibiting that a speedometer should ever understate speed. Every BMW bike that i have ever ridden overstates the speed against what the GPS says.
Hey BMW: No service manual = no new bike.
