DWA........ DiebstahlWarnAnlage = Theft Warning Device.

I think it may be the alarm batteries but thought they should last longer than the 2.5 years of the bike. Any one change theirs and how long did they last.

But

Not got the DWA battery low warning on the dash.

Or

It could be just that the alarm has been triggered?

Took batteries out and both are 3.4v so unlikely them. Will change them anyway.

Beagler:
Changed batteries to Duracells and they were 3.2 volts new. Cleared fault, Switched alarm on and off and rescanned and as below fault gone. Wonder if it was batteries too high voltage at 3.4 or something

Got same error when I scanned my 2013 GS, newly acquired 10k miles. Error Code 1. Nothing else. Will try swapping the barrettes as you did.
Alarm works fine otherwise.

Beagler:
Error came back not battery. The alarm test is not included yet but will be. I read a list of tests it covers but cant remember where. You have to live with it till updated and included I think.
