RPM limiter Reset Issue

(1/2) > >>

SteveS1KRR:
First off, Apologies if this has been submitted before as I briefly scanned the forum and for the novel.

Performing basic maintenance(oil and filter change, air filter clean etc.) on my 2017 S1000RR and while connected with GS3 that is on most recent update as of this posting date to reset service reminder and showing a mate of mine how it would work on his 2015 S1000XR, he somehow while scanning thru turned the RPM limiter on. The break in period is long gone as the Bike has over 13k miles (20km) on it, however I am unable to turn it back off as it shows it has 0 mileage. I know what you are thinking easy fix, ride the minimum 310.7 miles (500km) and then reset. However after riding over 350 miles it still registers as 0 miles and will not reset. Getting ready to move across the country and will not have a Dealer within a days travel, and attempting to avoid having to get a dealer to fix this issue with there normal goto "oh there is a update for $300 we can do to fix this" that they like to do here in the states. Located in Arizona until the end of the month and really need some help here.

Thanks in advance

Hi Steve,

The limiter reset can be found in S-series -> S1000XR -> the Engine -> Service functions ->  BMSX or XBMSMP1 configurations -> Set RPM limiter.

Thanks for the Reply,

Unfortunately the information you provided will not help with the issue.  I will reach out as you have directed but I am currently unable to remove the limiter that has already been removed once and enable again on accident.  Additionally this is for the S1000RR not the XR. I am familiar with how to perform the process and have attempted immediately following the re-enabling of the rev limit. Attempting to disable immediately after enabled and after adding the additional miles to the bike which should negate mileage requirements still comes up with 0 miles.I will reach out as you have directed but I am currently unable to remove the limiter that has already been removed once and enable again. I will continue to monitor this post as well as.

Cheers
Steve

Wilco:
Hi all,

The fix for the XBMSMP1 incorrectly reading an ODO value of 0 during the RPM limiter process is live on our cloud servers and confirmed to be working by Steve.  8)
The limiter can be removed via the web-app or the mobile app.

Safe riding,
W.

Hi, I am trying to unset 2020 XR RPM limiter. My GS911 is fairly new, GS911 WIFI (OBD-II), bought it brand new in 2019 from Amazon. I also did the upgrade on both software and firmware.

S-series -> S1000XR -> the Engine -> Service functions ->  XBMSO1 Configuration is what I am seeing, and in there, I only see "Switch demo mode". I don't see BMSX or XBMSMP1, and no option to unset the RPM limit. Any idea?

Thanks for the help in advance.

David
