OBD II Protocol?

(1/2) > >>

BMWRGS:
My friend just popped over with his new R1250 RT and he was looking for the diagnostic connector. I mentioned that BMW motorcycles have gone to a OBD II connector within the last year or so.

My 2016 GSA LC still uses the round non-standard connector, so I wondered what protocol BMW is using now with the OBD II connectors?

Hello

YES. The new GS-911wifi with OBD-II Connector with the last version of the GS911 software  V1908.1
will be able to read your friends R 1250 RT.

Thanks Wolfgang, but that was not the question.

Just as cars have an OBD II protocol  (ISO 9141, ISO 15765, etc), what protocol does the BMW OBD II use for its motorcycles?

I am not talking about the GS-911 software version.

 ;D  That's what I thought, when I read your post.  ;D

The EOBD diagnostic connection is standardized.
Data format according to DIN ISO 9141-2 or SAE J 1850.
Since 2005, the CAN is also standardized.

For that reason, it will also be possible to read and delete
exhaust relevant errors of the 1250 engine control.

BMWRGS:
Thanks Wolfgang!

I would, but I am only in the Alps for 6 weeks a year. The rest of the year, well the roads are kind of boring.
