R1200r LC Brake Fluid change
« on: July 02, 2019, 07:24:30 PM »
I need to perform a brake flush for 2017 R1200R LC.
I've been researching online how to complete properly. Many videos on the r1200gs but not the r. However, they are very similar bikes with identical engines.

On the videos, it shows the gs-911 having an option to bleed the abs module and within the gs911 application it gives instructions.
Under my specific bike and year, it does not give the same options. Just says " activate abs module"
Anyone have any experience or point me in the right direction?
Thanks !

Just completed this procedure on my 2016 R1200RS and do the flush was relatively easy. I did however install Speed Bleeders before doing so. Once installed you can just pump the brake pedal or brake lever to move the fluid through the system, of course, do not let the fluid get to low. From information I gathered from the BMWSportTouring.com for the wetheads the GS911 is used to activate the abs to help remove air. Others said just to go out and ride where the ABS could be activated to remove the air then re-bleed. I haven't done either yet. Good Luck!
