Hi all - S1000XR and S1000RR owner
« on: March 09, 2019, 12:12:45 PM »
Hi all, just got my shiny new GS-911 to have a go at sorting my XR. Its getting repeated engine warning light and fuel gauge not resetting when I refuel. Its been to BMW lost of times and been checked, reset without sorting the underlying problem, At the least I can do that at home now and with luck I will suss what is the problem. All hints and tips gratefully received!

Welcome to the forum sounds like you have had a lack of customer service from the dealers

Ta very much. Dealers have been ok but as my bike is over two years and out of warranty the last conversation was “well we might need the bike for a few days and systematically work through the wiring to find the fault and at £93 per hour that could be expensive”

Needless to say I wasn’t happy with that which is why I bought my GS-911. I used it yesterday and didn’t find anything other than a side stand switch “implausible values” message. That said clearing the fault code resolved both problems at least for now. Worst case is when it comes back I clear it again!

Assuming it is the GS911 WiFi learn to use the inbuilt real time logging, you can leave it connected & log for up to a year

It is and that’s a great idea. The plug is safe and sound under the seat too so easy to leave it. Does the GS-911 automatically log if left connected?

Yes if you learn to drive the GS911 it ;logs to internal SD card & so you get everything you select in parameters every time you ride until it is disconnected
