My own view is that it should not be necessary to actually commence the process to find out what is involved. There should be a video or text that tells you what to expect.

The only thing that I was prompted to do was run the bike through the gears. I thought it might ask me to open the throttle fully. Did I miss something?

The instructions vary a little from model to model so if you followed what was on screen then it is all done, the max value of TPS is set automatically as the machine is ridden on modern machines, that is why you were not prompted to fully open the throttle
