Ride Height sensor reset?
« on: July 31, 2017, 01:06:16 AM »
#1: I just bought a (demo) 2016 R1200RTW. While riding it back home (1200 miles), I noticed the "Dynamic ESA" suspension was really REALLY bad--not like all the glowing reviews. No matter what the setting, the ride was awful. I stopped by the BMW dealer in Albequerque, and they put it on their computer and did a factory reset on the "Ride Height Sensor". Wow. Fixed. Wonderful ride now. But there was no fault codes in the bike's computer.
Question #1: is this 'factory reset' something the GS911 blue tooth could do?

#2: The bike seems to 'surge' at 30-35 MPH (city driving). Seems like TB may be out of balance. Feels like my old 1100RT: a bucking bronco.
Question #2: is the something the GS911 blue tooth can help with?

My nearest dealers are 4-6 hours away. I am a competent mechanic, and am trying to decide if the GS 911 blue tooth is worth the $400 investment.

The 2016 model will be CAN Diag which is on different pins in the diags socket and a different protocol which needs the GS911 WiFi

The older GS911 and GS911 Blu only supports the older K-Line protocols, see the function chart pages for further information on model support

Ok. I stand corrected.
Still looking for answers:
#1: The current model GS911 be able to do a 'factory reset' on dynamic ESA suspension ( as the dealer had to do to fix my non-functioning suspension)??
#2: can the current model GS911 help correct the 20-30 MPH surging I am experiencing?

As I indicated above refer to the function chart for individual model support, click on the Model/ECU for more details

http://www.hexcode.co.za/products/gs-911/function-chart

Beyond that perhaps contact Hexcode to ask a question http://www.hexcode.co.za/contact-us-1
