Saving logs
« on: October 30, 2013, 07:50:03 PM »
What is the process for saving logs using the android version?

I turned on "start log" during the diagnostic session, but when I returned home and selected "send log" I found that the software required the gs911 to be connected and, when connected to the android (and not the bike) there was "no data"

A specific question is if it's possible to save the logs locally.  This is with trips to locations in the southwest usa and mexico that often do not have data connections avaiable.

Thanks in advance,
Beverly Howard

Again- I AM a "noob"
The logging is done "locally"- with USB or bluetooth connection to a PC or another "device".
No need for a internet connection at all!!
If the receiving "device" is not set to stay ON or "connected forever" no log data will be saved.
Also, the "deivce" must be set up to store the log data in a memory location with free space.
The GS911 software will not delete stored info in your phone or PC.

Thanks... I had looked, but there is nothing in settings that referenced a log location.

Your response prompted me to dig around.... guessing that the directory name would begin with either "GS" or "Hex" didn't pan out, but, I finally found it named as;

 "com.hexcode.gs911.mobile/logs"

Try typing that in on a phone screen in the rain <grin>

Thanks again,

Guess that was for me?
I always use the USB when logging (laptop in tankbag)
Happy you got it soved! (maybe more log data than you wanted :-)

Your "storage location " info ought to be a "sticy" on the GS911 site?
