ESA II Calibration: 2011 K1300S GS911 1306.4
			cymirk:

Yesterday decided to investigate the new ESA II adjustment settings.  I received the following feedback from the computer:
Front Sensor Position: 0
Front Sensor Maximum: 0
Rear Sensor Position: 135
Rear Sensor Maximum: 3372
I selected to reset the Rear and it did it's travel thing and calibrated itself.  However when I went to reset the Front it said it could not communicate with the ESA module (or something to that effect).  Leading me to this post.  Could my ESA II module be broken on the front of the bike, or is ESA II a rear only installation on the 2011 K1300S?  I could not find a definitive answer regarding specifically the front ESA II capabilities online or in the owners manual.

A "0, 0" response normally indicates that there is no ESA.  Easiest is just to look at the shock.  If there is no ESA servo motor attached to the side of the shock, then there is no ESA installed.
The first response from Stephan is going to be to ask for your Autoscan!  ;D

Problem Resolved on my 2011 K1300S, and I am passing on this answer in case others with my bike post the same issue:
David,
Thank you for contacting Bob’s BMW. I passed your question off to a Certified Technician and his reply. ESA, Front= damping only, REAR= damping and pre-load. Calibration is for spring pre-load only available at rear. Position sensor only at rear. I hope this has cleared and answered your question.
Thanks,
Chris Buell
