No Alarm function on BETA for S1000
fotodadi:
HI there.
Resently ran the Auto-scan on an S1000RR with my GS911 tool. It showed some error with the alarm system.
So I tired to look further but there is no alarm listed as one of modules that can be entered into. It is however, listed in the R1200GS menu.
Anyone know what's happening?
Inspector Gadget:
The S1000RR can be fitted with an (optional) alarm according to BMW's pricelist.
I would recommend to reply back with an AutoScan report attached so we can have look what is noted.
Please bear in mind that the GS-911 can only read information from the BMW OEM alarm, and clear existing error-codes.
You can not change the settings for the alarm, that has to be done via the remote control, as described in the manual of the alarm (DWA 6).
fotodadi:
Autoscan included.
However, like I mentioned, the issue is that I dont se the "Alarm Module" in the main "Modules" menu. It is only via the autoscan that I could see the faults.
Comments please.
Inspector Gadget:
Indeed odd you do not see it listed in the menu in the left hand. ???
I can confirm on most BMW models the GS-911 software will show "Anti-Theft Alarm (if fitted)" on the left hand side menu.
But no so with the S1000RR.
It could be an omission in the menu-structure of GS-911 although I checked previous version, it is not shown there either.
I would like to suggest you raise a formal ticket with Hex Code's helpdesk;
http://hexcode.mojohelpdesk.com
PS: The "Anti-Theft Alarm (if fitted)"-section normally has only 3 options there:
- ECU info
- Read Fault Codes
- Clear Fault Codes
Let us know how you get on, for future readers and such. ;)
StephanT:
was this alarm factory fitted or retrofitted?
