Unable to connect gs911 wifi to 2015 GSA

I got a gs911 wifi in today. Set it up, and connect it to my 2015 R1200 GSA. It will not connect to the bike. I am able to do a connector test, and it passes the test. I am using an iPhone 6. So the gs911 is getting power from the bike, I'm getting a passed connector test. No info at all coming from the bike, ignition on or bike started, does not matter. What am I missing here?

A little odd, it should have found the bike without problems

When you indicate "set it up" did you ensure it has the latest firmware in it ?. what firmware revision does it indicate in "about"

Update:

I had to set the GS911 up completely on my regular WIFI network BEFORE it would work in Device to Device mode. After I did this, it works fine :-)
