Capturing log files on iPad
« on: August 22, 2016, 12:22:34 AM »
I hope this may be of help to someone that wants to "download" log files using an iOs device.

Today was the first time I used my GS-911 WiFi and wanted to "save" a log file.

I ended up doing a select all, copying it and pasting into a new note.
I initially had difficulty getting all of the lines selected, but found out that if I scrolled to the bittom of the text then did a "select all" all of the lines were captured.
Then I selected the lines from the note and copied them to the body of an email to myself.

Next, I copied and pasted the text from the email into a MS Word document, saving it asca text file

Finally, I opened the text file with Excel which recognized it as a CSV file.

A lot of steps, but I didn't have access to a Windows computer.

Good morning I am trying to do the same thing. Thanks for the info I will try it tonight on my way home. I want real time data, so I can see what changes when I install aftermarket parts. If you come up with a  simpler way post it.

Thanks you
Ed
