Hello,
This is either a feature request or an educational moment on my part depending on what the answer is, but is there a way to 'turn on' the TPMS units before the bike’s speed hits 30 km/h or 19 mph?
Reason for request: I know the bike gets up to speed, the TPMS are turned on or wake up. Sometimes when I start a ride, I notice the air in one of my tires is a bit low. I know this is something I should check every time I get on the bike, but being honest, I don't see a lot of riders doing this.
When this happens, I pull over, pull out the pump, and add the few pounds of pressure, and I’m back on my way. What’s nice is I don’t need a tire gauge to check the pressure; I just monitor the bike’s display.
Now here comes the tricky part, and I don’t even know if it can be done, but if it can, I think it would be a great feature. Before the bike is even started, if I turn on the bike, it would be nice to ‘turn on’ the TPMS units to check pressure before I even start. The way I see this could be done is, let’s say, applying pressure to the front brake in a sequence that then turns the units on.
This may be a question for BMW, but if it can be done via the 911, that would be great.
I hope this explanation makes some sense, and I’m not laughed out of the form for the suggestion.
