Title: K1300S oxygen sensor servo unit exhaust flap
Post by: paulobrien1974 on March 15, 2018, 02:31:26 PM
Hello my bike is a 2015 BMW K1300s it has recently started running slightly hot and it feels a little sluggish when i apply the throttle . I plugged in my GS-911 and two fault codes are present one for the exhaust flap servo and one for the oxygen sensor . my question is which one should i change first . Also if i change the sensor is that a plug and play unit or does it need setting up for the bike

I would check the function of the exhaust flap before I start replacing anything.

Recommend removing the tailpipe from just after the flap so that you can see it.  Check that it is not stuck.  Use the output tests to activate it and physically check that it is opening and closing.

They do like to get stuck, especially when the bike is only used for commuting and short distances.  Corrosion on the shaft causes the shaft to bind and thus prevents the butterfly valve from opening and closing.
