Title: GS 911 Wi-Fi and R1200 RT 2011
Post by: sennahill on February 12, 2015, 04:34:59 PM
Away on a trip and the dreaded ABS warning light comes on and will not go off , then the speedo ceases to work and the indicators will not self cancel  and I lose the neutral light , ride another 200 km to our hotel and to be honest I'm expecting the worst , connect up the GS911 and run the auto scan , it tells me rear abs speed sensor is not operating , what a relief so on to Bangkok and into BMW they fit a new speed sensor in 1 hour and recalibrate everything , may I add using my Gs 911 , everything as good as new and working perfectly . The reason I am posting this is simply because the GS 911 saved me a big mind f--k and I didn't have to cancel my trip , as with out it I would have believed the ABS unit would have needed replacing and great cost as we all know and my trip would have had to have been curtailed . Worth it's wait in gold , I am a very happy man .

Hello sennahill,
so it is, good to be a GS911 owner. So you can do the diagnostics by your self :)

By the way, have a nice trip and enjoy the day 8)

I can understand the ABS lights if a speed sensor went but what caused all the other problems?

abs sensor also feeds the speedo.  Need the speedo working (how far has the bike travelled) for auto turn signal cancellation.  Not sure about the neutral light... that is a different sensor.

When my ABS went south, the cruise control also went along with the speedometer.
