Title: K1200GT (late) changing imperial instrument cluster to metric
Post by: emarsh on August 18, 2022, 10:48:43 PM
Hi,

I have a 2006 K1200 GT that was made for the UK market. I live in Spain so I bought a kilometer calibrated instrument cluster on ebay.

The speedo is quite accurate - better than the old one. But apparently it doesn't play entirely nicely with the UK bike. When I use the GS-911 to tell it to display distance in kilometers the distances are wrong. When I tell it to display distances in miles the distances are displayed correctly in kilometers but tagged as miles.

For example, I ride 17 kilometers and the odo says I rode 17 miles. I set it to kilometers and it says that I rode 27.3 kilometers. 27.3 kilometers is actually 17 miles converted to kilometers.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on and better yet have any idea on a fix?

Thanks

What would happen if you used the GS911 to change the original display to km.

The entire display? I don't know that I have that option.

No, I am referring to the cluster that you replaced.  Configure the original one to km.

I'll take a look at that.
