Hi there,

Is 2501.2 still the latest version?

Asking because I haven't used it in maybe a couple of months and mine is showing 2502.3

I wouldn't have downloaded it anywhere else other than here as I've always been very fussy about my software.

Other information from About shows;

About:
2502.3
GUI 1.207
Datapack 2.91
Scripts 1.97

Firmware Version
1.84 - 0.304
Base System Version
0.27 - 1.14 - 4

Datapack is the same 2.91 but my firmware shows 304 - have I missed something fundamental here?

If I have I'm blaming my age...:)

Thanks & kind regards,

Technical / Re: RDC error: controller 0x6810, fault code 58635
« Last post by schuppi on May 16, 2025, 11:23:26 PM »
Hello

Ensure the power supply is secure.
The battery may be too weak. At least 12.6 volts with the ignition on. Use a charger.
The error code describes a lack of CAN communication between the RDC control unit and the display instrument.
Check the connectors, contacts, and wiring on both control units.

General Discussion / Re: 2002 R1150R brake bleed test

Hello

During the bleed test, the pumps are not running. You must set the front brake lever to its furthest reach
and then pull the lever toward the handlebar with all your strength.
Then the required minimum pressure can be achieved.

GS-911 / Re: low battery leading to no use of GS911

Trying to do any GS911 work without a charger is going to be difficult. Even using a trickle charger is probably not going to work well especially if you have engaged cruising lights that cause the low beam to come on along with the side lights without running the engine. Most trickle chargers only put out 800 ma and you may find that is not enough and will need a charger capable of 4 amps.
Last week I had to do a recode (restore) to the RDC (throwing constant erroneous faults on dash) while on the road so I unplugged the headlight to allow enough time to complete the restore before the voltage dropped below 12.5v.

Hello Ruan
So... i am sorry.  I can close this help request now.  perhaps it was my error.
The last attempt did work.   i don't know exactly what i've done differently.  i know that when it prompt to turn off ignition and wait, i did it but not troo much
also, there is a window, that will ask you to enable or disable  something, i don't remembrer exactly what... i changed that, then make my coding et voila. all is good.
Sorry not to have updated that post.
Still love my gs911

ezCAN / Re: New feature requests for ezCAN ?
« Last post by SonicSparks91 on May 15, 2025, 12:37:57 PM »
I've had an idea, though I'm not sure of the specifics when it comes to how BMW senses / sends data about heated seats. But i'd like the ability to be able to choose on the fly between Grips Only, Seat Only or a mix of the two rather than have them married together and having to plug into the bike to change your preference.

I unfortunately have a bike spec'd without OEM Heated Seats, and it would be extremely cost ineffective to replace the harness to unlock that functionality just for the ability to use the menu.

I was thinking since its already possible to read the Heated Grip setting via the CAN Bus, and use that setting for any 3rd Party Seat through EzCAN, would it be possible to-do the same with the heated seat menu on BMW bikes?

I am unsure how the bike would react if the menu option was enabled with no such harness being installed, but it might be possible since its not all handled on one controller. (It could be enabled on the Instrument Cluster for the menu, but not enabled on the Body Controller to prevent issues with Current Sensing / Short Circuit Sensing on a nonexistent harness) I imagine it passes messages over CANBUS about the rider's selection in the cluster over to the BCM to actually heat up the seat like it does with the grips.

For the record, I have a 2023 1250GS. Afaik thats how heated accessories are handled on my bike.

Hi SonicSparks91

The primary issue with enabling the heated seats handlebar button (not possible via the ezCAN or GS-911 just yet), would be that the bike then expects load on that connector. When it doesn't find it, you'll get a fault on your dash.

For independent control over 2 different heated items, you can follow the same steps as this gentleman below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmEwjP2_j9M&t=63s

Note that even if you don't use 2 jackets, the same applies for a 2nd heated item setup, you can control one with grips and another as an aux light set.

Kind regards and safe travels
Ruan

Thanks for the response!!

This is what I was afraid of, I wasn’t sure if the bike would complain if you only enabled the feature on one module and not the other, or if there was a potential way to disable the current sensing….

It’s a shame that ive already used all my outputs on my current EzCan, otherwise this wouldn’t be much of an issue as I’ll have to sacrifice a light set for independent control, or buy another one.

Now that I think about it, would it be possible to trigger EzCan / other accessories over BMW’s NAV Prep? I am currently waiting on Chigee’s AIO 6, im curious if you could have some sort of “switch screen” for this sort of thing given how it’s already able to read canbus data off the bike as well as interact with the wonder wheel. That, and they have accessories for CAN/LIN bus if Nav Prep isn’t an option.

Obviously would require some collaboration.

GS-911 Wifi / Re: R1200RS Transmission Reset problem
« Last post by Ruan on May 15, 2025, 12:01:01 PM »
Hi Peter

I can honestly say that the first quick shifter from BMW for R-series bikes that felt good and not violent, was the 2021 + version. The reset should improve it, but my experience is that it is a minor improvement, at best.

Kind regards
Ruan

Thank you. Yes the bike does have gear shift assist. I do think that the recalibration worked but no change to the shifting. It’s okay anyway and I was just looking for possible improvement. No faults that wouldn’t clear.

Hi Elwin

Could you please send through a full autoscan of your bike? Best would probably be directly to our helpdesk on support@hexinnovate.com

You can use the below, either PDF or Download options will suffice:
