hi All,
we've noticed that the Android app does not show support for the 7", 8" and 10" tablets. We've corrected a setting in the descriptor so it is available for tablets.

I have a Nexus 7 tablet without phone capability, only WiFi. I need to download directly from the Google store. I needed to get an adapter to get from the mini USB on the GS-911 unit to the micro USB on the tablet. The regular mini USB/desktop computer USB will not work.
-
Have you tried more than one cable?
SOME USB cables are only made for the 5 Volts charging, not data transfers :-(
Stupid but true :-(
-
I used the cable that came with the GS-911 which has a mini-USB (into the GS-911 unit) and a normal USB port (into a regular computer). What I needed is a mini-USB (into the GS-911) and a micro USB (into my tablet). I found a suitable one at Amazon for about US $6. Now I just have to download the GS-911 software into my tablet via the Google store. This is contrary to much of the language on the website which and will end up charging me a few dollars. But I will shortly have a solution!
I hope GS-911 includes a micro USB cable on the new version they are working on. I'll need it for K1600GT.

I am sorry, I missed the mini and micro problem.
I am OLD and believed "normal USB" was the standard, on tablets too :-[

Haakon, thanks for the help. :P

non of the mobile versions work with cables... you need the GS-911blu (bluetooth) version...
see the related FAQ:

Darn it all! I guess I won't be downloading the software after all because I have the USB version and not the bluetooth version. I'll just keep my ancient laptop. I wonder if the upcoming K1600 GS-911 version will be backwards compatible with my F800GS.
Haakon and Stephan, thanks for your help.

the upcoming GS-911wifi runs on the PC software already... i.e. everything you can do on the PC app on every model available on the PC app is already supported...
For now, the browser based functionality will only be for the new Generation bikes (K1600 and R1200GS LC) because there is no tool for them at all... but as the year progresses we will add the Emergency functionality for the legacy models (i.e. models already supported in the Windows PC app):
Emergency Functionality:
- ECU info
- Read Faultcodes on all control units
- Clear Faultcodes on all control units
- Live data (realtime values) for Engine control units

Just a suggestion for people who would rather avoid the Google PlayStore download.. if you download it to your Windows PC using the HexCode downloader, and then you install "ES File Explorer" (from the PlayStore - Free) on your tablet, you can setup the ES File Explorer as an FTP server, and access the tablet's memory using your browser, and then your file-manager in Windows. Makes it easy to simply copy it from the download location on your PC to the tablet - then use ES File Explorer to find it on the tablet and install it.
It takes longer to write the above than it did to do it.. :)

PS: Stephen - "What is the maximum torque figure for the R1200GS LC (only digits)?:" - really - as a verification check? Do you want it in Ft/Lbs or NM?

It depends on whether your Kindle has a browser that can access the internet as a normal browser would.
I have tried on my wife's Kindle. Since Amazon/Kindle pay for the Amazon access from the Kindle, they have pretty much locked it down. The only browsing I can do from her Kindle is on Amazon.
