Hi everyone
GS-911 V1807.2 is available for download as well as software updates for the GS-911wifi and GS-911usb Generation 2 interfaces.
The major changes in this release are support for 2016+ bike models: F800GS, F800GSA, F800GT, F800R, F700GS, G310GS and G310R, as well as service reminders for XKOMBIHI TFT instrument clusters and service functions for the XBCO body controller on K001 bike models.
Additionally, this version includes signed and certified Windows 10 compatible USB drivers for generation 1 GS-911usb/blu (yellow) devices.
Read the news item (http://www.hexcode.co.za/july-2018-software-updates-available) on our website for the full change list and some screenshots.
Note that this is a ongoing project - see the function chart (http://www.hexcode.co.za/products/gs-911/function-chart) to find out what has been implemented already and what still needs to be done.
Note about resetting service reminders on XKOMBIHI TFT instrument clusters:
The XKOMBIHI cluster controller only supports service intervals in increments of 100 km (63 miles). This is the same restriction that we have seen on XKOMBI53 (R1200 LC) and XKOMBILO (R nineT) instrument clusters. If you enter a custom service distance, the GS-911 software will automatically round the interval to the nearest 100 km increment on your behalf to prevent the controller from returning an error. This means that the actual service distance reported on your bike could be slightly different from the value that you chose, but it will be within a 100 km range from your chosen value.
Thank you.

Thank you.
Another six months to wait for TFT instrument functionality, inc. service reset function?
Any indication please?
Regards.

We have already attempted to implement support for the TFT clusters (and you can try it in this version), but in BETA testing we have had no success in fully clearing the service reminder yet. We could not hold back the release for that, but we are still investigating the problem. Unfortunately, we'll only get our hands on a bike with a TFT cluster at the end of this year, so we are relying on beta testers to help us out in getting this working, for now.

Thanks for the prompt response.
Should you need any further testers I am happy to assist.
Best regards.

I have a 2018 R1200 GS with TFT. Let me know how I can help with testing for the reset. Feel free to pm me.

Thanks guys. That is much appreciated. As mentioned, you can try the service reminder reset with V1807.2 on the TFT cluster. From current reports, it is able to reset the service date, but not yet the service distance. If you experience the same problem, you can submit your application logs with the Tools -> Send logs menu and we'll use the information to narrow down the cause of the problem.
Of course, if anyone has a successful result, we definitely want to hear about that too.

Dear M3GS and GS Jim
Should you need any further testers I am happy to assist.
Will you try using the updated version on the PC App (V1807) to reset the service date and distance of your TFT equipped bikes? We have reason to believe that it might succeed. Note that you might have to settle for service distance multiples of 100km - a BMW limitation on the setting.
Looking forward to your feedback.
Warm regards.

Yes I will give it a go next week when I rejoin my bike in France. Fingers crossed.

Thanks, M3GS!! Trust you won't get stuck in Tour de France traffic?! Photo-or-it-didn't-happen! ;D

IT WORKED !! ;D
I am heading into the mountains of BC for a week of dirt biking and only had a few minutes to try the reset. My current kilometerage is 6087 so the old service was to be in 3913 km. I set the distance to 26,000 and date to July 1 2020. the bike ended up being set to 25,987 according to the PC app, and 19,900 to go in the TFT and BMW connected smartphone app. the date was as set in TFT and PC app but shows June 30 2020 in the connected app.
When I get back I will play with other combos and see if there is a max setting as I have found that there was on my 2015 R1200 GS but could set a way longer time and distance on the wives 2015 F700 GS.
Well off to get dirty now.

Great to hear, GS Jim!! Appreciate your input.
All I can add? JEALOUS!! Enjoy the dirt. I spent 3 months in Seattle this time last year... Miss the mountains.
Have fun and be safe.

2018 TFT Here. Just downloaded the update and I was able to reset my service reminder successfully. I just used the pre selected mileage and date instead of a custom one. THANK YOU!

Hi everyone
We have confirmed that the function to reset service reminders on TFT clusters is working correctly as expected, and I have updated the announcement accordingly.
The reason why there was uncertainty about whether the function was working, was due to a misunderstanding about the restrictions of this instrument cluster.
Consequently, if your chosen value is less than 100 km from the current service distance, you will not see any change.

Yes it works perfectly now as stated above. Thanks guys. :)
-
& how do I download the upgrade to my GS-911. All I can find are downloads for the PCs (MS and MAC). Where is the download firmware on the Hex Code web site?
-
Install the PC app or phone app, then connect your GS911 and follow the prompts. :)

okie dokie Thanks

I found some time in between trips to play around with different combinations of time and distance for the service reset.
For the 2018 R1200 GS TFT it seems the maximum time is 3 years for the current date and the distance is 60,000 km from the current odometer reading, any thing exceeding these will set to these maximums. Interestingly the dash updates immediately without having to cycle the ignition and the app also shows the new settings right away (which I think it already did).
Some people might wonder why you would want these extremes but I don't think I am alone in finding the service reminder useless and a pain in the butt, a oil life percent would be more useful (which is common in 4 wheel applications).
Well time to finish cleaning up from a dusty Dualsport trip and prepare for more dirtbiking before leaving in September for a month in S.A. (the home of Hex Code, (hope the service reminder doesn't go off on the rentals ::))

If you're going to be around the Port Elizabeth area, drop me PM or pop in. Some awesome riding around here. Can even take you through Shamwari game reserve.

That's great news!! Hope to see you here in Cape Town? Offer stands: friends/customers always welcome to drop in. If someone on the team is not yet aware of your plans, please feel free to PM me.
Safe travels.

The S1000R is a K001 model with CAN-Diag which is higher speed & on different pins in the socket than the old models so it requires the GS911 WiFi
See the function chart - https://www.hexcode.co.za/products/gs-911/function-chart

I havent got that far yet, the GS-911 wont connect to the downloader at all.
