hi
i have this error on my GS 1200 my 2010 (with ESA and ABS) : 10219
i can't clear it via gs-911
The bike won't start and also the instrument cluster does not activate properly....what i can do??
thanks

Hi ciri,
10219: CAN-bus Timeout: no communication with ZFE
disconnect battery check voltage
remove fuel tank
check wiring to ZFE
disconnect ZFE, check the pins
-
already done...the bike starts and works well....eccepts for the onboard computer : i can read hour and km , but it shows no gear or any info about abs ecc ecc
fault code is the same...
-
is the ZFE fault?? 61 35 8520262

is the ZFE fault??
Hi,
mostly not.
Check in connector J1 on ZFE pin 1/3/29 for battery plus
pin 5 for ground and pin 26 for ignition "15" plus. I think here is something wrong.
In addition:
pin 17 can-h, pin 16 can-l >>maybe this connections failed. To measure these cables/connections you have to disconnect
all ECU's from the wiring.
And what is about this entry?

eh eh
i think this is going to far from my electric business...
i don't know about mileage..i have 30000 km write on computer...
let me se if i understood well
1 i have to remove all 2 connectors from ecu
2 with a tester i have to measure volt from a pin to black pole of battery (pin 5 for ground)? and one from red pole (pin 26 for ignition "15" plus)??
where i can find the numbers to check?wrote on pins??
am i right???
-
wrote on pins??
Hi ciri,
you're right! :)
-
i am right???
almost incredible!!!
i have to check the 2 connectors in the way i wrote??
on the pin or on the ecu?? on the pin right??
thanks!!!!
ps what they are????
-
Hi,
please pull the connectors and than measure the cables :)
-
ooook
tomorrow i will do it!!
to be sure...i have to measure the volt...right?? in other words if there is passage of electric current??
thanks and sorry for my ignorance!!!( i mean...electrical one!!ahah)
ps i have to leave the battery WITH all the cables connected, right?
-
Yes, you're right :)
-
ok
....I am reading your post and I realized I did not understand a couple of thing:
what does it mean "pin 26 for ignition "15" plus"??
also "pin 17 can-h, pin 16 can-l "
and...which is the connector J1? the high or lower??
-
which is the connector J1? the high or lower??
Hello ciri,
connector is marked by J1 on the body of ZFE.
And if you use a good translator :) maybe this would help:

hi
here is my test...
FROM ZFE pins to RED FROM CABLE to RED
1 0,010 0
3 0,010 0
26 0,008
29 0,006 0
FROM ZFE pins to BLACK
5 0 0
i made 2 measure (cable and zfe...i am pretty sure one is nonsense but....)
i miss "pin 26 for ignition "15" plus"??
also "pin 17 can-h, pin 16 can-l "
because i don't understand what i have to do....thanks!!!!
-
sorry for being late
Ok. This is voltage measurement
Disconnect J1 from ZFE.
pin 1/3/29 in connector plug at the red line of your voltage meter, black to battery ground > battery voltage min 12,6V
pin 5 black line and red to battery positiv > same result > 12,6V
pin 26 red line and black to ground cycle ignition on > same result> 12,6 V
pin 17 can-h, pin 16 can-l >>maybe this connections failed. To measure these cables/connections you have to disconnect
all ECU's from the wiring. Then!! Resistance measurement!
after disconnect the battery!
pin 17 to BMS-K pin 53
pin 16 to BMS-K pin 52
pin 17 to ABS pin 30
pin 16 to ABS pin 15
here you have to read 0 Ohm Ω, otherwise check the cables for chafe marks.
Important points > wire straps
I think you need a wiring diagram. Please be careful, that's a professional job.

-
ok ....just to make the things clear
for volt measurement i have to take the battery in, the motor off AND the key to OFF???
and for pin 26 i have to take the battery in, the motor off AND the key to ON??
the Resistance measurement it is not clear to me..i mean "all ECU's from the wiring" : what i have to disconect? any photo around the web??
i don't have a wiring diagram
many thanks!!!
-
hi
i made volt measure...
1-3-29 (from cable to black battery ) are ok (all of them are the same of battery, 13,6v)
5 ( from cable to red battery) ok, same of the battery
26 (from cable to black battery, with key ON) ok, same of the battery
-
hope to done right...
Resistance measurement ...i disconnect THE BATTERY, THE 2 CABLES ON BMSKP...
pin 17 to BMS-K pin 53 measured 8 ohm (the same if i put red and black tester together )
pin 16 to BMS-K pin 52 measured 8 ohm (the same if i put red and black tester together )
so i think that i took the right cable..the BMS-K (is the smaller on BMSKP ????)
pin 17 to ABS pin 30 i measured nothing....!!!!
pin 16 to ABS pin 15 HERE THERE IS A PROBLEM...if the cable is right on 15 ABS i don't have any "metal pin " so i can't measure nothing
-
Hi ciri,
if the VIN is right pin 30 and 15 at ABS are right.
Please check wire colours in the ABS connector.
15 = white/brown
30 = white/black
Voltage measurement is good. :)
By the way, in addition you can check this wires to the Kombi(dashboard)
can high on 1
can low on 2
Just one question: did you any kind of retrofitting? Maybe this is the reason for your time out fault?
also zero Ohm
-
thanks
i will check colour..i need to remove black tape on the wires, right?? as i wrote...on 15 i don't have any connect to check, just empty space on plug)
i don't understand "can high on 1 and can low on 2"...how can i check them??
here are the fact:
a friend of mine made for me the wire from tom tom to bike connector (with original cable)
i connect it to the bike..and i am pretty sere i see little flash...but i really not sure..
after that, bike goes well for a 30min trip...but it seems tomtom won't charge (but was the first time i used this...and tom tom woke up with the bike engine,so i thought if was well done...mah???)
the day after i went to a long trip..after almost 30 min bike "says" the battery low...but i realized it after a while
i stopped for make gasoline and than the bike won't start up...battery went out of power
i had a second (not to much charged ) battery , so i decided to try again...but after 30 min the instrument cluster does not activate properly...no gear display,no turning lights ecc ecc...i stopped to check and again the motorbike won't start...
IT SEEMS THE ALTERNATOR IS FAULTY???? but it faulty because of the instrument cluster does not activate properly ??
we tried to put the bike on (i am italian, and the bike stopped in switzerland...a friend of mine come to help me) also with battery cable between each other but nope...
that's all folks!!
-
good evening 8) :)
i don't understand "can high on 1 and can low on 2"...how can i check them?? In the connector of Kombi
uups, thought it was clear. The same procedure, from ZFE to Kombi.
another uuupps:
a friend of mine made for me the wire from tom tom to bike connector and
i am pretty sere i see little flash.
So disconnect this retrofit, check this cables and those who are close to them to ZFE for short circuit.
Hope this helps to find it out
-
hi
i already disconnected the cable from the plug (near the radiator, there is a plug made for navigators...) when the first time battery went low...
sorry but i don't know what kombi is...where is the plu??
many thanks

Hi ciri,
so just I'm a little bit confused :-\, can't find such a connector as you figured in picture 2? It's not the same as showed
in the wiring diagram. So I don't know how to give more help? In my document the ABS connector has 47 pins?
Picture 1 looks like ZFE.
And Picture 2 seems to be from BMS-K Motor ECU?
I will try to find it :)
-
Hello ciri
Sorry to frustrate you :( . But I'm not able to find such a connector with 96 pins.
On every ABS-module I looked for, is a connector with 47 pins and CAN-Bus is always on pin 15 and 30.
Within the next few days I'll be on the road and can't give any informations, sorry.

no problem
i went to BMW and after a few tests, they said first to change ZFE ...after that...it can be anything!!!
or just ZFE....mah
i check if there are used ones...i have the 61358520262....if you search REALOEM for the, there are many other codes...are them the same??
thanks
EDIT
i mean http://www.realoem.com/bmw/it/partxref?q=61358520262
does it says 61358520262 it is Superseded by
61358521877 (02.08.2010 — 13.06.2013),
61358531470 (12.03.2012 — 13.06.2013),
61358536929 (12.03.2012 — 04.06.2014),
61358552125
and i can mount one of those??

Hi,
Having the same issues on a 2010 GS12. Would just like to clarify on the CAN Hi/Lo wiring resistance check suggested ( pin 17 - BMSk pin 53), which pin 17 are you referring to? The ZFE - BMSK connection? Noticed the BMS-k ecu has 2 connectors. (58-pin and 72-pin). Thanks.
