Title: ESA Calibration
Post by: mjonesjr8 on May 27, 2017, 02:53:37 AM
I saw a video of someone using the GS911 to calibrate the ESA unit on a k1200s but, I don't see that option in my software?

You should find the ESA calibration page under "Central Vehicle Electronics"

Thanks, I found it after I downloaded the PC USB version, rear calibrated fine, the front throws this error: Negative response from controller conditions not correct of incorrect sequence of commands?
Any idea?   front sensor positions read 0 on both

AFIAK  only the GS has front and rear ESA Preload

Mine (07RT) has ESA Preload only on the rear and Damping ( Normal , Sport, Comfort) on front and rear.
There is no calibration for damping

Only the rear strut can be calibrated on my 07 RT since there is no adjustable preload for the front.

The K1200S has no ESA on the front.  This is because, as with the RT, there is no requirement for the front suspension to cater for off-road conditions.  The adjustment is on the rear is purely to cater for for the addition of pillion/luggage weight.

Dann my 15 GS does not have adjustable preload on front and I don't think any do for all the reasons Jughead stated, adding weight to the rear (passenger luggage) does not add any significant load to the front there fore no adjustment required.

Maybe not all of them but I'm pretty sure the GS adventure has it.

Excuse my ignorance.  What is a "15 GS"?  Is that a 2015 R1200GS?
