GS-911 / Re: USA Spec R1250GSA - MPH to KPH?
« Last post by botus on Today at 08:21:27 PM »
I have a UK spec 2024 r1250gsa, which used to have the option to select mph or kph via the tft. However, following a software update by BMW to sort out the sos error, this option is no longer available.
Any idea if this can be restored? To get around it whilst in France, I’ve used the GS 911 to change the speed units to kph, but I will need to reverse this with the GS 911 when I return to the UK.

a UK spec bike by law must have the ability to display speeds in both KPH or MPH - either
1) they flashed the wrong update (shouldn't be possible)
2) they are incompetent and forgot the law in the last update (likely these days)
3) you need to look harder at choices
4) or they moved to the cheapskate idea, where a secondary digit display is always the opposite unit to an analogue dial (which is the nasty way BMW Minis do it these days)

ezSwitch purchased and fitted. (Thanks)

I have the switch configured to turn on "fog lights" at 100% both day and night.

The fan now comes on at full speed with a single button press.  Excellent in hot start-stop traffic.

(As an aside, why not hook into the turn-cancel button?  I have an after-market system on an older machine that toggles aux lights on and off signalled by a long press on the indicator cancel button.  Cheaper.)

GS-911 / Re: BMW r1250GS/A Daytime Running Light EU vs USA

I should add that a riding partner on a '24 F900GS has also noticed that their OEM LED driving lights are also not as bright as they were.  In my mirror his bike used to look like a train coming with the brightness from his yellow aux lights and the OEM driving lights but now the intensity from the OEM are definitely not noticeable.  Very odd that we're both experiencing this.  I wonder on the EU models if the DRL mode also lessens the power to the OEM lights?

Just a curiosity, I really like the EU DRL pattern and appreciate the ongoing tweaks and  configuration options that the coders provide.

its intriguing you are saying things aren't as bright now,

on the cars it was always USA spec BMW cars that had deliberately dim headlights for the USA market - you can code them to euro spec and they get much brighter on the E89 models (1995 to 2011 3 series) and I expect all the others too

I can see maybe there are brightness issues for DRL that might differ between various markets and likely the same limitations could exist on spot lights...
may be they are now fog lights rather than aux driving lights - fogs are meant to light the road just in front to look under the fog - rather than flare up and blind you like driving lights would in heavy fog

GS-911 Wifi / instance already running
« Last post by handensco on June 25, 2025, 05:01:54 PM »
I have a gs911 and have noticed it for a year. I have a MacBook Pro. When I click on the GS911 icon it says "Another instance of gs911 Utility is already running in the system tray. Application will exit." How do I get past this or where in my MacBook Pro is the system tray. I am not real computer savy so any help is great. I was thinking of loading it onto my iPad 10 but Ineed to get past this on my MacBook Pro.
thanks

R1200 models / Excess Fuel Usage
« Last post by timcorr on June 25, 2025, 01:19:55 PM »
Hi,
Recently I carried out a service R1200S and did a throttle body calibration via the gs-911 and now my fuel usage has gone bad. Down 5km to the litre. Any ideas what to look for? Still very new to the gs-911.

Now this could just be a coincidence but since installing and activating the EU daytime running lights I've noticed a couple of odds things:

1.  When I first made the change the TFT showed a new white icon on the bottom for this new DRL mode.  I still had only 1 green icon on the left side which is for the OEM LED fog/driving lights.  I've recently noticed a second green icon immediately above the LED one which I believe is also for the DRL?  If so, I wonder why it didn't show for about a week?

2.  The X pattern of this DRL is not as bright as the NA/CDN model, specifically the two horizontal LED lines on the NA/CDN mode

3.  The OEM LED fog/driving lights are not as bright as they were.

Anyone else notice any of these changes?

Thanks...

Yes I believe you must be "riding" or they would shut off while sitting waiting for traffick to clear/light to change etc. I have been using the comfort setting for a while and like it. The over 100 kph, cancel on accell and other nuances seem well thought out. Not sure if all that is available on your bike though.
