Title: 21F520 : Electric fuel pump, short circuit to ground
Post by: hefy_jefy on May 25, 2018, 12:55:41 AM
2014 R1200RTW

Done 50,000 miles, never showed any faults.  The check engine light came on, then went off on restart.  GS911 shows-

Fault Codes : 1

Currently present : NO
Engine warning light (MIL) : NO
Frequency count : 1
Logistic(Healing) count : 39
.Fault Code History :
...Record number : 1
...Odometer : 50516.7 mls
...ABS time : 5360160
...Engine speed : 0.0 rpm
...Vehicle speed : 1.2 mls/h
...Battery voltage : 11.91 V
...Electric fuel pump voltage : 11.23 V

The bike is running fine, I have run the GS-911 fuel pump test and all seems well, I am off to Alaska in a couple of weeks and the local dealer can't look at it under 3 weeks.  Anybody have any experience of this?  It seems like a glitch?  If there really was a short the fuse would blow?
Any thoughts are most welcome
Geoff
The bike is still covered under the extended warranty...

Regarding this error what does "Logistic(Healing) count : 39" - mean?

Hello
Many control units delete the error entries after a corresponding number
of ignition changes, if these errors have not occurred by then.
In this case, I think that this deletion occurs after another 39 ignition changes
without another fault entry.
