Title: R 1200 CL abs fault 17163 front abs motor defective

Hi was wondering if someone could help with info on Fault code 17163 Front ABS motor defective, fault is shown as present even when cleared. The other fault shown is 17419 Rear ABS motor defective, fault is shown as Not Present. Regards Alan.

Hi Alan,
thats a wellknown upcoming fault on this ABS. Basic cause is dirt / rust on the electromagnetic clutch in this ABS module.
You'll find many help for repair by searching the net. ;)
