Engine related issues / F800GS Oil light flashing
« Last post by FortyZA on Today at 03:58:13 PM »
Greetings All,

I have a F800GS with a flashing oil light.  I ran a diagnostics test with my enthusiast unit and it comes up with the following error:
Elements Group Fuse 1 Active Turning Off P28CA.

I then removed the oil sender unit, connected an oil pressure gauge, there is sufficient oil pressure.  I read somewhere that the Engine Fan can get the oil light to flash.  I traced the wires to the engine ECU, if I unplug the engine ECU and put power to the fan, it runs fine.  Can someone maybe assist me with what all if powered with Elements Group Fuse 1 as there is absolutely nothing on Google and BMW are also not prepared to divulge anything.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

GS-911 / Re: R1300GS GS911 Compatibility
« Last post by WayneC on October 05, 2024, 03:02:07 AM »
I know the GS911 is not fully functional with the R1300GS due to the new programming BMW installed on the newer models.  I emailed Hexcan and got back and seemingly an underwhelming answer. The issue is I removed the stock fog lamps and added a Hexcan to power a pair of Denali S4's.  So now with the open circuit on the stock fog lamps I get a fault, the GS911 recognizes the fault but is unable to clear it.   Any ideas?

The issue in removal of the stock fog lights generating fault codes is that ECU firmware is monitoring current through the circuit & unless BMW have allowed for turning off the monitoring via coding there would be little that Hexcode could do to stop the fault codes

On other older models it has been possible to stop fault codes for removed devices by plugging in either a resistor or a 3rd party module an example is the module for where exhaust flap has been removed

General Discussion / Re: Try using GS911 USB on OSX via CrossOver
« Last post by helgaella99 on October 02, 2024, 06:23:39 AM »
It seems you're trying to use the GS911 USB tool on a MacBook Air running macOS Mojave, but you're facing challenges with storage and compatibility. Unfortunately, there isn't a native GS911 USB driver for macOS. You might consider using CrossOver or a similar solution, but ensure compatibility with the GS911 tool. Alternatively, using an external hard drive for Windows might be necessary if CrossOver doesn't work. You can join Build Now GG

Hi Ruan,

I've sent through the device the logs and the serial number as asked by mail.

Thank you for your help.

Hi GSBMW

Thanks for the details, can you please send through your device debug logs for us to review:
https://www.hexgs911.com/faq/how-do-i-send-my-debug-log-files/

You can also log a ticket with some images of what you're seeing when opening the GS-911 software again.

On occasion, we've found that the server fails to authenticate the subscription, the easiest way to rectify this would be to check for updates from the setup menu, then navigate back to Device Actionvations to authenticate your subscription. Once that's completed, the ProUnlimited subscription should reflect correctly.

Kind regards
Ruan
