GS-911 / Coding the XBCL (body controller) on older GS LC without TFT
« Last post by Rick_UM on April 22, 2024, 05:32:00 PM »
I was eagerly awaiting the April 2024 update because coding with 'Bimmer Utility' is not possible for my model year.
I really wanted to activate the 'cruising lights'.
The coding options are displayed but when attempting to program it is aborted with the message that the firmware version is not compatible.

My motorcycle is built in 2017. Typ 0A51
Firmware-date: 15.03.2015
HWEL
Firmware-ID: 0x2A58
Firmwareversion: 001.007.001
Bootloader
Firmware-ID: 0x2A55
Firmwareversion: 002.000.000

Are there any experience with coding older XBCL? Does it make sense asking a 'friendly dealer' for a firmware update?

GS-911 / R1250 instrument cluster

Hi,

Not sure if this was already mentioned, but would it be possible to program R1250 GS screen just like it is on a R1300 GS? Regular GS main screen and an option for sport screen (with lean angles etc.).

Thank you

I have had a reply from the nice folks who make the GS911… many functions are not available yet because the bike is so new..
Oh well…

Well…I cannot find service functions/coding and I have looked in all of the controllers. The only thing that I can find are “set cluster date/time” and “Reset service reminder” under XKOMBI Functions under Body Controller.

Switching between km/h and mph should be available without using the GS911. Look in the TFT settings.

Can't say for sure on the 1300 but on the 1200 GS it is in the XKOMBI controller under service functions/coding. Just look through all the different menus.
For all of these sort of things they are in service functions/online usually.
You don't need to have the bike running but you do need to keep the battery above 12.5 volts.

R Series / R1300 GS Questions
« Last post by CollingsBob on April 21, 2024, 03:09:10 PM »
Hello,
I have a R1300 GS..

I cannot find how to do the following:

- change splash screen on TFT

- change number of settings for heated grips

- put a selectable km/hr & mph on TFT

I have had the bike running with the GS911 connected and I can see lots of information about the bike as well as the ability to clear error codes.

New R1300 GS owner from Manitoba here..just breaking my first BMW in..
I’ve installed a HEXezcan and a Denali B6 tail light…easy install, easy configuration.
Yesterday I connected the GS 911 to the bike…I can read all sorts of information about my bike, but other than reset error codes and flush the ABS I can’t find a way to do anything interesting.
What I would like to do is:

- change splash screen on TFT

- change number of settings for heated grips

- put a selectable km/hr & mph on TFT
