Front Sensor Issue
« on: March 14, 2015, 08:03:21 PM »
Hi all,

I have the following problem on my '10 F650GS twin. After driving a few km's the abs light goes on and stays on. It will only go off after switching the ignition off, wait for a few minutes and restart the engine again. But the error returns again after some km's. GS911 says error 25380 and 25381. I've checked the clearance of the front wheel sensor and it's within specs.  The sensorring looks straight. I've also checked the wiring to the sensor, no dents or cuts. Could it be a faulty sensor? Anyone any suggestions?

Regards, Charlie

Sounds like either a faulty sensor or a poor connection in the wiring harness

Hi,

I've spent the weekend searching for the problem causing this fault and finally I've found it. It appears the front axle was not tightened up to torque (should be 30 Nm) and the pinch bold was not tightened at all (should be 19 Nm). Because of this the front wheel had about 3 mm play, causing the abs sensor clearance incorrect error. It also explains why the bike was a bit wobbly at 170 km/h.

Regards,

Charlie
