Will my GS-911 work on updated Windows 8.1?

(1/2) > >>

Michael B:
I bought my GS-911 about a year ago (Version 1303.3) to work on a small Windows 8 laptop.  Windows 8 is difficult to work with, so I just upgraded to Windows 8.1 which promised easier usage.  Will my GS-911 with Ver. 1303.3 work on Windows 8.1 or do I need to download a new GS-911update from your home web site? Thanks

WayneC:
Definitely update the software, there are many improvements in the later software

kobus:
There are no issues we are aware of with the standard GS-911 devices on Windows 8.1.

So the answer is yes.
And update your software as Wayne suggested ;)

Haakon:
As Wayne and Kobus tell. Download the updated (last) Beta and Stable.
That said, keep your latest "Stable" software!
The files are small so there is no reason to delete all the former "Stable" editions.
The Betas will NOT work after a new Beta have been developed.
You will be told to update to the last Beta.
The "Stable" will work even if new editions have been developed.
The Stable will ...I think ? tell a new edition are ready for download but WILL work.
I have saved ALL stable editions, from the first one.
THAT is being a bit paranoid, just (save) keep the next to last one.

Win XP, Win7, Win 8.0 or Win 8.1. No problems whatsoever that I know of.

Michael B:
Thanks for your responses!  It looks like I will have no problem using Windows 8.1 with my UBS GS-911.  Very good.

But…what is a "stable?"  From Haakon's response, I have to assume it is the regular non-beta program, as in Version 1303.3, right?  There must be "stables," and Betas?  I did not erase 1303.3 when I downloaded the latest Beta, which I understand will only work for a few months.  When will there be a regular non-beta program to replace 1303.3 and how will we know it is available?  I check the regular web site occasionally, so I guess that will be it.

Thanks!
