Fault code 41704
« on: July 03, 2014, 05:17:36 PM »
2011 BMW 800GS

Start seeing lower voltages:  Stator new so, probably not that.  Battery going bad, possibly.
Next day, starts fine, voltage climbing as it should then shuts down and bike completely dead . . . for a couple of minutes.  EWS warning (immobilizer)

Do a scan with GS911 and the Immobilizer fault shows along with:
41704 KL30 (Battery positive) under voltage
    The fault is currently present.
It is showing a value of 0.5 volt

Replace the immobilizer antenna and that fault goes away and bike will now start
However, fault code 41704 still present

Battery shows ok voltage at 13.4
However, maybe it is the problem.  I have another battery so swap it out and the 41704 still present

So, what does 41704 mean?  Where is it measured?  It is showing 0.5 volts however, bike starts fine and battery voltage measures fine.

Any ideas?

Got it solved - needed to clear the frickin fault.  Shazam . . . no more fault.
