GS911 and the MacBook
(1/1)
MondoRich:
Good afternoon I’ve searched this topic and it seems to have been discussed 7 years ago and I wonder if this has progressed.
I have an old pc laptop that is nearly dead and I connect using the USB to my 911 WiFi and do autoscans and crucially reset the service reminder. The laptop is dying though and the 911 is now the ONLY reason I still have it.
On my newish MacBook I can connect to the 911 by WiFi and run autoscans but I can’t seem to:
1. Reset the service reminder
2. Update the 911 with new software
I’m not having much success with the WiFi utility program on my Mac, it opens but just sits there - is that where the answer lies or is the 911 still REALLY a pc focussed tool?
Thank you very much for any thoughts or help you can offer.
Kind regards
Rich

You should be able to update GS911 firmware on the MAC using a web browser & do service resets & service functions via the cloud, I assume the MAC is connected to the internet
The answer to using the GS911 PC App on the MAC is to set up a Virtual Machine, see the options here

MondoRich:
Ok I’ll try and do it in the cloud yes the Mac is connected to the internet.
How do I do it through the cloud actually?
WayneC:
When using GS911 through browser & you click on service functions it simply gets the functions from cloud
MondoRich:
Thank you Wayne that's all really good now. Very grateful for your help.
