Can anyone tell me what the procedure is in remove the film type fuel sensor from my 2009 R1200GS tank.  I removed the fuel tank cap but cant figure out how to get the filler neck out.

Make sure fuel level is low.
Remove the left tank covers and carefully disconnect the wiring on the pump assembly.
Unscrew the metal retaining ring and then carefully remove the pump. Note where it sits - understand it's orientation.
The fuel strip sits in a depression moulded into the tank and hooked into the metal hanger in the top of the tank.
No sparks or flames!

Calibrate the strip with gs911 'dry' then disconnect and fit the new one and rebuild it all.
Tank reading may still look odd till you fill up and restart the bike.
