What needs to connect to what for set up ?

I realize the GS-911 connects to the tablet by USB cable with the tablet connected to the internet over Wi-Fi, (for software download and set up) but does the GS-911 have to be connected to the bike as well ?

Snowy's response indicates that the answer is no, it does not have to connect to the bike for software download and set up. :) Thanks

As so often, its all a matter of following instuctions.
And NOT think its more dificult than it is :D
