ABS 2 - CAN - PROBLEM
« on: January 08, 2014, 11:48:15 PM »
Hello from England. R1200GSA - OCT 2007.

Had the 'brake failure' warning message come on permantly.
Purchased a new GS-911 to find fault codes 24048 + 24049 - 'power supply to pump motor faulty'.
Stripped the motor and re-worked the brushes. Re-assembled, carried out the bleed test and cleared fault codes. Brake failure message now working correctly.
However the pump motor momentarily activates accompanied with a series of clicking noises every time I apply the front brake lever regardless of hand pressure (ignition on and either front or rear wheel turning) followed by more clicking when brake lever is released. GS-911 shows no fault codes present?
Any ideas please,
Thanks.

I believe the servos activate each time the brake lever is squeezed and released. Normal?

ABS unit applies some rear brake pressure when the front brake is operated - the noise you get is normal, I get the same on my R12RT.
