I just bought the GS-911 USB version and while it works on two of my bikes it does not work with a brand new G650GS. It can not communicate with the Engine module, returns error "The controller is not of the expected type". Tried both the current and the beta version - same result. It does diagnose the ABS module though. Can you please tell me what is going on and how can I read the engine codes with this.

Hi,make sure your kill switch on handlebars is in ON position. ;)

StephanT

nope, it's not the Kill switch etc...

the controller ID is different to what we expect for that model of bike...

I see you have logged a HelpDesk ticket too... I will investigate it through that avenue and be in contact.

will give feedback to the forum once I'm sure I have the correct answer.

I have created a page http://www.f650gs.crossroadz.com.au/AboutGS-ECU.html on the 650GS ECU's, it is pretty basic for the moment, I will improve it further over time and we learn more about the new G650GS ECU, the pdf at the bottom of the page has what I think should be the connector pin out if anyone needs to work on one

the good news is that by next week we'll have a bike with this new ECU in our office... Then we'll get it sorted!!!

OK the even better news is that we now have support for the new BMSE-13 ECU in the G650GS.
PM me if you want to help test it before we make the Beta release public.

Have not encountered anyone in Sydney with the new controller but if there was someone who wanted to look and check I would be happy to go and do it
