Servo Motor - Clearing Code Problem
« on: May 09, 2024, 07:28:00 PM »
Hi, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post.

I've searched for an answer to my question but couldn't find an answer. My bike is a 2016 R1200RTW.

I recently purchased a GS-911 Wi-Fi (it was time), hooked it up, and it gave me this error code:
Fault Code Value: 0x21FA21
Fault Code: Exhaust flap servomotor,
Description: adjustment error

So, I pulled the silencer, and found the servo flap in the exhaust to be stiff. I lubed/loosened it with copper no-sieze, tested functionality by starting the engine and blipping the throttle (flap was moving as it should). Reassembled everything, ran the GS-911 again. I was able to clear the error code.

So I did a "rescan" and the error code reappeared.
I successfully cleared the code again
Another "rescan" made the error code reappear.
And so on, and so on...

I can clear the code, but a rescan brings it back, and then I can clear the code again... so what am I missing here, and is this normal?

Thanks in advance

The fault code reappearing indicates the fault is still present, I am not too familiar with your model however I recall there is a calibration capability in service functions so take a look there run the routine & the fault should be resolved

Thanks Wayne, I'll take a look at that, and check back in.
