GS-911 Upgrade from Legacy?
« on: May 24, 2023, 02:28:19 AM »
Hi Everyone,

My first post here. I have a 2009 BMW R1200RT, and have been using the legacy GS-911 for many years. So far its done everything I've ever needed to generally maintain the bike. I am considering trading-in for the new model GS-911, but I'd like to know what it can do for my specific bike the legacy one doesnt. Anyone have a decent summary?

One of the specific things I am curious about, assuming its even supported on my model RT, are there any options on the new model GS-911 that allow for adjustment of settings relative to using LED bulbs on the bike (i.e. not tripping the LampF)?

Thanks all, looks like a great forum.

Griff

Hi Griff

There's quite a lot of stuff that's come out so far for the red devices, basically everything since April 2021 was releases only focused on the WiFi units, if you have a Saturday without some sport on, you can read through the releases here:

Most are not applicable to your bike though, as the majority of development for the oil cooled models have already been completed prior to this.

The main highlights are basically retrofits that were releases, things like LED retrofits, fuel sensor conversion (strip to lever), etc. I've included our function chart below that shows the majority of these for the ZFE controllers:

Kind regards
