Need help understanding a code 0x3A1B61

Hi there to all

Have a 2019 BMW R1200GS Adventure LC (K51) with the following code 0x3A1B61
Odometer 4044 km
VIN WB10A0207JZ961523
Been searching in the forum for this code with no result
Not much info on the web in this regard either
Is there any document or web page where to search for this code and his transcription if available?
GS 911 code description is "Camshaft sensor input signal, no signal edge detected, input level low"
Could someone help me to understand this code?

I would just reset it and see whether the error reoccurs.

Hello

Fault Code Description
DME detects no signal from the camshaft sensor.
No camshaft signal is present within several crankshaft revolutions.
Service Plan
Check wiring, wiring harness and plug connector to camshaft sensor.
Check wiring harness plug connector to DME
Check camshaft sensor.
Remove camshaft sensor and check for contamination (metal abrasion).
Check sensor gap to camshaft.
Fault Impact
Emergency operation with limited vehicle dynamics.
Significantly reduced maximum engine speed.
Camshaft adjustment, not functional.
Service Notes
After rectifying the fault, reset the mixture preparation adaption values.

Check wiring harness plug connector to DME.    DONE, cleaned, and checked
Check camshaft sensor.   Is there any procedure to check this sensor as such?
Remove camshaft sensor and check for contamination (metal abrasion).   DONE, cleaned, and checked, no debris found
Check sensor gap to camshaft.
Fault Impact
Emergency operation with limited vehicle dynamics.
Significantly reduced maximum engine speed.
Camshaft adjustment, not functional.    Does it means that any camshaft could be out of time?
Service Notes
After rectifying the fault, reset the mixture preparation adaption values.    Have not make it yet

functional description
The camshaft sensor is designed as a non-contact Hall sensor. It records the 6 different flanks of the increment wheel on the intake camshaft.

From this, the DME calculates:
camshaft speed
Exact position of the camshaft
If the camshaft sensor fails, an emergency engine operation is possible with the crankshaft sensor.

BMW recommends an oscilloscope to measure this Hall IC.
Voltage change between 0 and 5V.

Wiring connector
1 > sensor output
2 > ground
3 > voltage supply 12V

Is there any parameter in this regard that can be measured with the GS911 data? If so, would you instruct me how to do it?

In the absence of an oscilloscope I would disconnect the sensor from the bike and apply 12V to the sensor and connect an LED with a resistor to the 5V logic level output and rotate the engine by hand. The LED will indicate the presence/absence of the signal as the cam rotates.
Hey BMW: No service manual = no new bike.

Oscilloscope is available but I was wondering if there may be a function, data, or similar that can help analyze the sensor at the GS911.

Voltage changes between 0 and 5V.

Try with an oscilloscope and digital voltmeter with the following results at the connector with the sensor unplugged

Wiring connector
1 > Sensor output.    11.4 Volts
2 > ground.   0 volts
3 > voltage supply 12V.   12.5 volts

Since there is 11.4 volts where the sensor signal of 5 volts should be, shall I assume the ECU is a culprit?

Will bench-test the sensor and show the results to validate I am doing the test in the right way.

Well

According to the pictures, the sensor should be generating something around 10 volts right?
This sensor is generating barely 500 mv
Take a look at the volts scale on the osciloscope

There is also the volts at the connector

Wiring connector
1 > Sensor output.    11.4 Volts
2 > ground.   0 volts
3 > voltage supply 12V.   12.5 volts

Is there a valid reason why to have just barely 1-volt difference at terminals 1 and 3?

Am I right?

Finally, the problem has been solved

A faulty sensor was the problem

However, it took 3 sensors to find a working one (the first 2 purchased at the local dealer)

A Third OEM part from a remote stealer solved the problem

I strongly think the local BMW stealer is selling Chinese BMW spare clones or something like that (not the first time this has happened with other parts)

Even some BMW Motorrad services have been made with HiFlo and Mahale filters as I have seen

Is this something common to happen with the BMW dealers to sell non-OEM spares?

Have someone else experienced the same issues before with the stealers?
