ambient air sensor
« on: June 10, 2022, 04:02:59 PM »
Hello fellows,

The ambient air pressure sensor is important for fuel system operation (together with the air temperature sensor) to calculate air density = air mass per unit volume.
Question: where is the ambient air pressure sensor installed? In the ECU?

The Air sensor is actually named Mass Air Flow Sensor MAF for short.  You clean it at every air filter change.  Location is inside airbox on the right hand side if sitting on seat.  It is a little stubby sensor with many holes.  You would need a spray can of MAF cleaner.  Let it air out after spraying it

Hi,

Could you tell me what kind of product/brand should be used to clean the MAF?

Hi e7navy1999,

I took a look at the electronic catalog and in the intake silencer/air cartridge there is only one sensor which is the Intake air temperature sensor number 8 in the figure - part number 13629899008.

The MAF sensor cleaner one can purchase at any automotive parts store.  Cost about $4usd.  You can use it on cars as well.
