Ezcan switching off motolights on power down.
« on: March 08, 2025, 07:24:47 PM »
The frustration with Lone Rider Moto lights continues.

Turns out that one of the pair they sent was a dead unit. That was a waste of hours and hours. Good news, the replacement works fine….

But back to bad news…. They won’t turn on when I start the bike after a certain period of time.

When I plug my computer in to the ezcan it says, “Motolights have been turned off, click here to turn them on”. I turn them on, all good.

Turn the bike off, Ezcan is green light, turn ignition back on, lights work.

However, turn the bike off and after a few minutes the Ezcan light goes out, turn on the bike, lights won’t come on. Connect the computer, “Lights have been turned off” message again.

Surely there’s something going on here I’ve missed.

This is the most frustrating purchase ever. I know regret not just buying the Denali’s and being done with it.

Every manufacturer has a fault sometimes. I am a reseller of both Lone Rider and Denali. I have had faulty Denalis over the years, but so far yours is the first MotoLights problem I have heard of. But, reading this and your other post, it does sound like you have a bad connection somewhere. Moist, maybe? Try some contact spray in the connectors as a first step.

You have set the circuit to at least 15 Amps for the white circuit? See this at 22 minutes if in doubt. https://www.youtube.com/watch

Thanks for your response and offering help.

Hex and Lone Rider were out of ideas. The last suggestion was that the turn signal switch might have a problem not sending the correct signal to turn the lights on. Before bringing BMW into the loop I thought I’d just factory reset everything and start again.

Hey Presto… All working.

As frustrating as the whole experience has been, I can only offer the highest of praise to the folks at Hex and Anna at Lone Rider. It’s always important to remember that behind every piece of kit trying it’s best to make you invent new swear words, there’s a team of people doing their absolute best to help.
