ESA calibration doesn't move front shock
« on: April 12, 2020, 02:22:38 PM »
Hi,

I just performed the ESA calibration on my K50 GS (sports suspension), the rear motor ran up and down fine but the front end did not do anything at all. No fault codes were thrown.

Ideas?

Although I don't know what exact model you have I think you will find that there is not a motor to adjust the front shock just the rear.

I thought there was on the GS. I have a 2017 R1200GS which should have a motor in the front too AFAIK. Riding in Enduro mode the front is/was way softer too.

I had a 2015 and have a 2018 R1200 GS both with ESA and neither had a motor to adjust preload on the front shock. If you look at the rear you can see the motor, then look at the front and compare.

Heh, you're right, I was being dumb. Thanks :-)

No problem Bento, and keep an eye on the cam lobes, just had all cams and followers replaced under warranty due to excessive wear. Defective diamond like coating issue, there is a published warning about it.
