2012 R1200 GS idle problem after throttle body sync
« on: September 30, 2018, 05:59:43 AM »
Bike was running fine. I did a TB sync as per instructions. After the sync and GS911 disconnected, bike turned off, I restarted it and it runs very rough at low rpm up to about 2000. If warm it will idle roughly at about 900rpm, if cold it will stall. Once warmed up it runs exactly the same as when the GS911 locks the idle actuators at the start of the sync process. I have repeated the process several times but it makes no difference. When the GS911 locks the actuators it is as if a toggle switch is reversed and it idles at 1,100rpm as per normal, and when the sync process is completed it reverts to the rough, low idle. After a few repeats of the sync process I got an error message (attached). There are no fault codes. I ran the bike and looked at the idle actuator position live and they do move together logically.

After the sync, it is essential to reset the adaptations.  All will be back to normal and idle will be correct again.

Thanks Jughead. I read this on another thread and performed "Reset adaptions". It worked perfectly and all is resolved.
