software installation on windows xp

The software installer will not run on windows xp and if I download the software directly in will not run. Any help here will be appreciated. Thanks.

I assume you are referring to the latest version ?, I installed it on two WinXP machines and it installed and ran fine

Support for Windows XP ended on April 8, 2014 and it shouldn't really be used. At least not with any internet connectivity.

I have also trouble with the downloader utility. the error message is:
the procedure entry point EncodePointer could not be located in the dynamic dll library kernel32.dll
