S1000RR Tyre Size/Traction Control
« on: July 23, 2013, 10:08:12 AM »
I have a client with an S1000RR. (2012)

All was well until he fitted a new rear tyre.  Original tyre was a 190/55-17 and traction control worked without any errors.

New tyre fitted is a 190/50-17 and the traction control constantly kicks in and kills the power.

I do not have an Autoscan as yet as the bike is only coming in to me on Friday.  In the meantime though, is there a setting that can be changed to either accommodate the smaller rear tyre or alternatively, make the traction control less sensitive?

As far as I can see the ECU auto adapts to changes in tyre size.
This might take a while though, so you should clear the adaption values to speed up the process.

EDIT: You MUST clear the adaption values, it does not auto adapt much more than allows for tyre wear.

There is no way to specify the tyre size used.
