gs911 wifi utility software
« on: March 29, 2016, 12:13:32 AM »
When I run the wifi utility on my Windows 10 laptop, the "Configure network" part of the utility's screen will not open up.  I am unable to select a network or enter a password.  I connected the gs911 wifi to my desktop computer (also running windows 10) and the "Configure network" section was open and I was able to connect to my home network.  The wifi utility is the latest version, downloaded 26 March 2016.

Does anyone have an idea of why this may be happening?  I am now able to connect to my home network but when I travel, I will not be able to connect the gs911 to any remote network.

Are the PC and laptop both updated to the latest WIn10 ? or is one on the initial release ?

Both are up to date. The laptop is brand new.

It suggests the user on the new laptop does not have privileges to configure network, you could try running WiFi utility as administrator but it may be best to lodge a support ticket with Hexcode so they are aware of the problem

In terms of travel, to connect to a new network the solution is to hook up to hook up to your phone/tablet with D2D mode and configure the new network in the GS911. This is regardless of the problem you are having at the moment and is what I did to hook into another owner's home net the other day to let him have a play with my GS911

For reasons understood only by Microsoft and/or HP, the software is now allowing me to adjust wifi settings from my laptop. After linking to my home network from my desktop machine, the Gs911 is now happy to connect via laptop. I'm just glad it's working  :)
